PAUL “BUD” HILL

Paul (Bud) Edward Hill 1939 ~ 2010 Our Loving Husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Paul Edward Hill 70, passed away peacefully March 5th 2010. He was born April 26th 1939 in Castle Dale, UT, to Paul Freeland Hill and Udella M. Wayman. Married his high school sweetheart Helen Renae Hardy, May 3rd 1957 in Dragerton, UT. She passed on September 16, 1991. Married Verla L. Beradi in 1993, they divorced in 2003. Married Pat Richardson May 6th 2006. Paul served in the US Navy from 1956 to 1960. He returned home to Dragerton, UT for a short visit before re-enlisting, during this “short stay” he was offered a temporary job at the mine where his father worked. He fell in love with coal mining and never left. He worked for Bookcliff, Horse Canyon, Pot-Ash Mine in Moab, Kaiser, and Hiawatha then went to work for Joy Mining and Machinery. Paul had a great love of the outdoors and especially the deserts of Utah. He was involved for many years with the Wild Life Federation and East Carbon’s Search and Rescue. An avid motorcycle enthusiast all his life, he was a member of the Gold Wing Association and continued riding even after losing his leg in a motorcycle accident. A longtime member of the CCOHV Association, he actively advocated open lands and public access, 4-wheeling became his “legs” to experiencing the beauty of Utah’s mountains and deserts. Paul had a great love for his family and was his grandsons’ biggest fan at sporting events. He will always be remembered for the love and laughter he brought to everyone he knew. Survived by wife Pat Hill, sons, Bill (Becky) Hill of Price, Mike (Alice) Hill of Montrose, CO, and extended children Brian (Cindy) Beradi of Salt Lake Monica (Brian) Silcox of Salt Lake, Tony (Mike) Green of Salt Lake City, Lynette Richardson of Salt Lake, Sandra Mangum of Huntington, Brandon Richardson of Salt Lake, Sara Richardson of Delta, Colorado, and Brianna Rae (Earl) Tucker of Elmo, 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, sisters, Irene Gish of Salt Lake City, and Shirley Hill of Wellington. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 9th 2010 at 11:00 at Price 3rd Ward 303 West 500 South Price. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary, on Monday, March 8th 2010, and also 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior the services at the church. Larry L. Wells

Larry L. Wells

WELLINGTON – Larry LeRoy Wells, age 73, passed away Feb. 15, 2010 at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray.

He was born in Elmo on Dec. 29, 1936 to Thomas Movell and Elga Iva Oviatt Wells.

Larry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a lifelong resident of Carbon and Emery counties. He retired from Western Coal where he enjoyed serving for years as the union president of the U.M.W.A. Local # 1902. Larry took great pride in his job and he was always looking for ways to help his fellow co-workers.

Larry enjoyed camping and his favorite past time was 4-wheeling. He was a member of CCOHVA (Carbon County Off Highway Vehicle Association) where he loved hitting the ATV trails with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all.

Survived by his wife, LaRae Wells, Wellington; three daughters and one son, Vicki (Mike) Peddler, Billings, Mont., Teri Lee (Tony) Kuske, Hurricane, Peggy Sue (DeVoy) Roberts, Miller Creek, Jerry Dee Wells, East Carbon; brother, Richard (Connie) Wells, Orem; sister, Ray (Donna) Davis, Wellington; sister-in-law, Maxine Wells, Price; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Larry Dee and Michael Shane Wells; and brother, Ross Wells.

Funeral service, Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, 1 p.m., Wellington Fourth LDS Ward, (50 N. 100 E.). Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Friday evening from 6-7 p.m. and at the church Saturday one hour prior to services. Friends are welcome at Mitchell Funeral daily. Jerry Campbell

PRICE – Our loving husband, brother, and friend to all, Jerry Wayne Campbell, age 62, passed away August 9, 2010 at home while surrounded by his family.

He was born Feb. 19, 1948 in Price to Ray Allen and Ella Robbins Campbell.

On Oct. 20, 1999 Jerry married the love of his life Becky Hadden in Las Vegas, Nev.

Jerry was raised in Wellington and graduated from Carbon High School. He later attended and graduated from Lincoln Institute of Technology in Phoenix, Ariz. Jerry resided in Carbon County for most of his life where he loved being a long haul truck driver for several years. He also worked as a coal miner for Hiawatha and the US Steel coal mines. Jerry shared a special love for animals and the outdoors. He was a member of CCOHVA where he enjoyed riding his ATV.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Campbell, Price; two brothers and one sister, RD (Peggy) Campbell, Marilyn (John) Reva, Clayton (Betty) Campbell, all of Wellington; and many other extended family members and dear friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Brian Tudor and the staff at Central Utah Cancer Clinic, Sherry King at Castleview Hospital, Dr. Sterling Potter, and the nursing staff at CNS Hospice.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held, Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, 11 a.m., at the Carbon Emery Church of Christ, 3300 South Highway 6, Price. At Jerry’s request he will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered by family members at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Jerry has requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
